Local Media San Diego is a locally owned and operated full service media company, home to three radio stations within the San Diego community, Z90.3, Magic92.5 and 91X. I started my position with Local Media SD as a social media intern in May of 2025, and promptly after my internship ended I was hired on as a Digital Content Producer.

Through my internship, I gained practical and real-world experience with social media management on a different scale than my work with Lip Service. I broadened my scope of platform engagement to include X/Twitter, and produced short-form videos engaging with trends as well as overseeing “influencer” collaborations with on-air personalities. Additionally, I created posts to update all three station websites via Wordpress, attended live events and station-sponsored festivals to film and produce recap videos of the events for cross-posting on Vimeo and social media, so I filmed both vertical and landscape shots platform specific.

My internship with Local Media concluded with my onboarding as a Digital Content Producer for the Digital Department and Cut Thru Creative team. Now, in addition to my previous responsibilities as an intern, I also help in the development of the recently released station apps, through beginner-level coding and adding posts for all sections of the app on the backend including: contests, events, on-air personality profiles, show+feature segment profiles and upcoming concerts etc. I have also helped with the creation of GIF banners/animations through Photoshop and editing photography from station photographers.

One of my sole responsibilities in this position is video production for the Digital Department’s Cut Thru Creative company in which I develop, write and produce videos for multiple platforms including broadcast TV, streaming services and social media. I have honed skills learned in my internship including aspects of filming, producing the video with Final Cut Pro, editing audio recorded with professional mics in Adobe Audition (and FCP) and color correcting clips to produce a story through quality video.

In this current position I have experience with: Wordpress, Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, MetaBusiness, X, Envato, Final Cut Pro, CapCut, Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Creative Cloud, Adobe Audition, Lightroom, Audio Space and others.
